You may apply for Fall 2017 admission by completing the online application. See instructions below. The deadline for submitting applications is January 1, 2017; however, it is highly recommended that candidates complete their applications as soon as possible.
The University of Pittsburgh Katz Graduate School PhD program application must include the following components:
- Online application.
- The application fee of $50 paid online by credit card. If you cannot pay by credit card, please make your check or money order payable to the University of Pittsburgh. Do not send cash. This fee is nonrefundable and will not be waived or deferred.
- Three letters of recommendation completed online by the recommenders (initiated online by applicant).
- Unofficial scanned transcripts are to be uploaded to the online application. There is a place to do this where you enter your Education Information. Official transcripts will only be needed if the doctoral committee is interested in admitting you. If interested, someone from the committee will contact candidates throughout January and February.
- GMAT (preferred) or GRE and TOEFL (for international applicants if applicable) score reports. The school codes you must provide are DPZ-M5-90 for the GMAT and 2998-(major code) for the GRE. If the TOEFL applies to you, please provide the code 2998-02. The TOEFL is required if you never received a degree in a country that considers English to be its native language, regardless of whether or not your classes were taught in English.
