Full-Time MBA Cross-Registration: Local Academic Institutions

The Pittsburgh Council on Higher Education (PCHE) cross-registration agreement is an initiative among local academic institutions that provides an opportunity for full-time students to attend courses at various participating colleges and universities as a guest student. AACSB-accredited institutions in the greater Pittsburgh area include Carnegie Mellon University, Tepper School of Business; Duquesne University, John F. Donahue Graduate School of Business; and Robert Morris University. Cross-registration is limited to full-time MBA students registered during the fall and spring terms only. PLEASE NOTE: PCHE cross-registration does not apply to part-time students. If you are intersted in cross-registration, review this document and complete all necessary steps.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?

The Master’s Admissions office is located in 301 Mervis Hall. The office assists Master’s students throughout their studies with questions regarding registration, transfer credits, exemption exams, grades, and scheduling of classes.

Do I still need to attend Katz's required accounting course if I took business accounting classes as an undergraduate?
Yes, only graduate level courses can be acceptable for transfer. See the answer to the next question to find out how to receive transfer credits for a previously taken graduate level course.
Can I transfer credits from previously completed business courses?

If you completed a graduate course at a college or university accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), did not use this course for a previous degree and you received a grade of B or better, you can submit the required paperwork and ask that this course be evaluated for transfer credits. The required paperwork consists of an official transcript, copy of the course syllabus, and the Transfer Credit Request Form which  you can obtain from the ‘Forms‘ page of StudentNet.  Once you submit this paperwork to your academic advisor, a Katz faculty member will review this information and an advisor will notify you, indicating whether or not you will receive transfer credit.
