Students must be registered for at least 4.5 credits to be eligible for a Stafford loan.

For additional funds, you may apply for a Grad PLUS loan.

The University of Pittsburgh Financial Aid Office provides further resources and instructions.

Non-degree students must be registered for at least 6 credits to be eligible.

Private Loans

If you have utilized the above options and still need funds, you may apply for a private loan. Different lenders have different requirements and terms, so be sure to do some research before applying. Some lenders students have used in the past include Chase, Citibank, PNC Bank, and Sallie Mae.

For more information, visit Pitt’s Private Education Loan Programs page.
