Please check your Pitt email for further instructions and information. If you have any questions, please contact Career Management. Part-Time MBA students are not required to complete career modules.
Immunizations
Graduate-level students are required to have their immunizations against Varicella (Chicken Pox), Measles, Mumps, and Rubella. Be sure to complete the immunization forms and bring the completed forms with you when you arrive on campus, or send them in beforehand.
IT Information and Laptop Computers
You will need a laptop computer in time for orientation. Be sure to set up your laptop when you arrive at Katz.

It is strongly recommended that you have a Windows PC during your time in the program. Several courses will require the use of Windows-based software that is not compatible with Macs.

Please refer to the Katz IT help pages. Mac users should make their appointment to install Windows as soon as possible. Call 412-624-4357 to request an appointment for a Parallels or Bootcamp setup. Appointment slots fill up quickly at the start of a new academic year.

You can connect to the wireless network upon arrival to campus. In short, all you need to do is connect to SETUP-PITT-WIFI, open your web browser, and follow the directions that appear on-screen.

Pre-Orientation Survey

Please make sure that you complete the Pre-Orientation Survey.

Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination and Booster

The University of Pittsburgh requires every student, faculty, and staff member to comply with certain mitigation measures unless they provide proof that they have been vaccinated.  People are considered fully vaccinated:

  • After their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer, Moderna or AstraZeneca-Oxford vaccines, or
  • After a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine
  • Faculty, staff, and students can request an exemption from the vaccine requirement. Learn more here.

We know that 96% of our students, faculty, and staff across all campuses are vaccinated and that many people in our community have sought out booster shots. If you have received a booster shot, please update your record and upload an additional photo of your vaccination card.

The use of information regarding an individual’s vaccination status will be limited to the purposes of our virus control program and will be accessed only by appropriately authorized personnel.

Prior to starting the process, it is recommended that you photograph or scan the front of the card which includes your name, what COVID-19 vaccine you received and the date(s) you received the vaccine. Save this photo or file to your computer or smartphone to upload as described below.

If you lost your vaccination card, please visit the PittCoVax Vaccination Center on Fifth Avenue where they can provide a replacement after verifying vaccination information.

Students

Upload your proof of vaccination to your campus student health service.

Student E-mail ID and Student ID Card

Please check your mail and e-mail for instructions on obtaining your Pitt student e-mail identification. This is important as you will receive specific log-in information that will allow you to access your e-mail account and be permitted to enter the Pitt system. Once you have matriculated, you should be able to visit Panther Central at your convenience to obtain your student ID. Visit the Panther Central Website for more information. ID photos are also used to populate the faculty class rosters, and your ID can be used for a variety of services as described on the Panther Central website.

Student Health Insurance

All students are required to carry health insurance. Please click here for university information for health insurance requirements.
