Problem-Solving through a Global Lens

The Consulting Field Projects are a hallmark component of the Katz academic catalog. The Global Consulting Project (GCP) is an international extension of the original field projects. A team of Katz students travel abroad to provide actionable recommendations to a concrete and specific international organizational challenge. Students who participate in the GCP gain professional experience and an international business acumen. Students return equipped with an enhanced way of approaching business problems and strong analytical and strategic thinking skills. Having a global mindset is a key skill that Katz instills on its students and the GCP is a great way to gain it.

Travel abroad to one or more international locations required for the problem that has local-global characteristics. Projects have tackled issues in Mexico, Belgium, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom for sponsoring companies MSA, Westinghouse and PPG.

Projects available on a select basis.

STUDENT SPOTLIGHT

Katz has been taking the best of efforts to keep things as normal as possible in these virtual times. With the mix of classes, clubs, professional development and networking events, my time at Katz has been educating, engaging and exciting.

I think my advice to fellow Pitt Alumni would be to try to step outside your comfort zone as much as possible. I feel that’s where most growth truly occurs and growing is something we should aspire to do for as long as we can.
