In the News: Dean Assad’s Accomplishments Highlighted

The accomplishments of Arjang A. Assad, Henry E. Haller Jr. dean of the Katz Graduate School of Business and College of Business Administration, were highlighted by the University Times in the June 24, 2022, article entitled “Assad led Pitt Business to its highest rankings ever.”

The article was published as Assad completes his tenure as dean that began in 2015. He announced in September 2021 that he was stepping down as dean, effective June 30, 2022, to return to the Pitt Business faculty. He will be succeeded by Gene Anderson, who starts August 1, 2022.

Achievements highlighted in the article include the highest national rankings in Pitt Business history along with the revamping of the undergraduate and graduate curricula, faculty recruiting, and new online programs.

In an interview, Assad said: “I always believe that every accomplishment is a part of teamwork,” he said. “I think it is to the credit of the whole school.”
