Katz MBA Is #5 in 2022 Fortune Online MBA Ranking

The University of Pittsburgh’s Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business is ranked No. 5 among 108 programs in the 2022 Fortune Online MBA Ranking. Katz’s ranking is up from No. 7 in 2021, the national publication’s first-ever ranking of this category.

Katz’s Part-Time MBA is designed for working professionals, offered as an online, on-campus or hybrid experience for core courses. Katz excelled in the Fortune ranking categories related to student retention, graduation rates, and low tuition rates as Fortune “set out to find online MBA degree programs that both prepare distance learners for the business world and launch them into good career paths.”

“We help our students find the MBA program that is best tailored to their individual academic and career goals to provide the highest possible return on investment,” said Arjang A. Assad, Henry E. Haller Jr. Dean of the Katz Graduate School. “This top five ranking reflects how we continue to leverage technology to enhance our programs and prepare our students to be catalysts for change.”

Fortune collected information from the participating programs through a questionnaire along with data from companies and executives. The final ranking is made up of three components: Program Score (the average undergraduate GPA and acceptance rate of incoming students); Fortune 1000 Score (based on input from C-level executives who graduated from each program), and Brand Score (based on interviews of 2,500 professionals to evaluate business school brands).

“We understand that family, work, and financial obligations can make it difficult to return to school and pursue an MBA,” said Sara Moeller, associate dean for Graduate Programs and Executive Education. “At Katz, we believe you should be able to master the competencies necessary to advance in your career without having to commit to a full-time, on-campus program.”’
