Dear Pitt Business Community:

These are extraordinary times for all of us connected to the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business and College of Business Administration (CBA). During the past 18 months, our school has earned its best rankings ever and sky-high student satisfaction. Also, even in the face of challenges of the pandemic, we launched a number of program and curriculum initiatives that will significantly impact the future of both Katz and CBA.

Reflecting on my tenure as dean, I have never been prouder of our alumni, students, faculty, and staff whose many talents advance our school, our academic mission, and our purpose to serve the greater good. It is in this position of strength that I’ve decided to step down as dean and return to the faculty effective June 30, 2022.

During my years at Pitt, I’ve had the privilege to work with some of the brightest minds in the field. Working together, we were gratified to see Pitt Business reach new heights. I am confident that our school will continue to ascend under a new dean with a fresh perspective. I will follow the next steps along this path of ascent with excitement and much affection.

The Office of the Provost will announce a search in the weeks ahead to identify my successor. Between now and June, I look forward to continuing our collaboration within the Pitt Business community as we build upon the success that you all have helped to achieve.

Thank you, and Hail to Pitt.
