Micro-Credentials

Micro-credentials

Micro-credentials are cost-effective, mini-qualifications designed to provide you with knowledge, skills, and abilities in a specific area of business. Successful completion of a micro-certificate may be stackable to a Katz Graduate Certificate, MBA, or MS degree.

Intended for working professionals, courses are offered in the evenings and weekends and may be available in either on-campus or online format. All Micro-credentials require 9 credits except for Leading People in Organizations which requires 6 credits, and can be completed in as little as two semesters. Start nearly any Micro-credential in the Fall or Spring term and take up to three years to complete.

Upon successful completion of a micro-credential, students receive a certificate and recognition of their achievement noted on their University of Pittsburgh transcript. Micro-credentials offer immediate value to current employers and demonstrate mastery of in-demand business skills to potential future employers. If you are considering an MBA or MS degree program, but are not ready to commit, micro-credentials are a great place to start.
