León Valdés joined the Katz faculty in 2017. His primary research focuses on the intersection of behavioral operations management and socially responsible supply chains. Using laboratory experiments and analytical models, León has studied how supply chain transparency affects consumers’ valuations of sustainable products and companies’ investments in social responsibility. He has similarly used archival and experimental data to study how job seekers respond to corporate purpose language in job postings. His research interests also include nonprofit operations; he has investigated how donors respond when their donations are turned away by nonprofits, as well as how they react to information regarding operational metrics such as donation impact and cost effectiveness.
