Rob Strauss

Director of Business Administration

Rob Strauss, M.Ed. is the Director of Business Administration for the Katz Graduate School of Business and College of Business Administration (Pitt Business). His role leads finance, human resources, and marketing efforts at Pitt Business, and also the day-to-day operations of the Dean’s Office. In addition, Rob is spearheading various strategic initiatives such as Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion efforts, shaping the workplace of the future, and the COVID-19 response for Pitt Business.

Rob has been with Pitt since 2017 and started as a Finance Manager in the School of Computing and Information. Before joining Pitt, Rob was in corporate finance with UPMC as a member of their highly ranked Financial Management Rotation (FMR) Program. At UPMC, Rob worked in corporate accounting, hospital FP&A, and strategic initiatives and clinical affairs.

Born and raised in Penn Hills, a suburb of Pittsburgh, Rob has always been a Pittsburgher at heart. Rob graduated from Juniata College (Huntingdon, PA) with a degree in accounting and a minor in Communication. While at Juniata, Rob was Senior Class President and a member of the men’s volleyball team. He also received his master’s degree in Higher Education Management from Pitt and is currently a doctoral student pursuing his EdD in Higher Education Administration at Pitt.

Outside of Pitt, Rob is a proud husband and dad to a golden retriever. He is also a School Board Director for Wilkinsburg School District and a board member of the Juniata College Alumni Council.
