Veterans and Active Military at Pitt Business

Your Success, Our Priority

Designated as a Military Friendly School every year since 2015, the University of Pittsburgh is among the top 15% of schools in the U.S. for exemplary services in support of military students.

Pitt’s commitment to the military dates back more than 100 years. In 1914, veterans from the Spanish-American and Philippines-American wars convened on what is now Pitt’s main campus to form one of the nation’s first Veterans of Foreign War chapters. The G.I. Bill that has resulted in education and training of more than 8 million veterans since 1944 was made possible through the vision of Pitt graduate Harry Colmery.

Pitt Business is also dedicated to helping students in their transition from military to academic life to career success through one-to-one support and a wide-range of University and school-specific resources.

Empowering Your Transition

Transitioning from high school to college or from active duty to civilian life can be a major adjustment. Some students juggle a family with attending school, others divide their time between ROTC and classes. Whatever your situation, we will help you every step of the way.

Why Study Business?

There are endless ways a business degree can be used in the military.  Finance, office administration, information management, and human resources all play a vital role in keeping the military strong. The discipline, integrity, and critical thinking skills learned in the military, when combined with a master’s degree in business, can open doors to an impressive career.

Pitt Business offers degrees for those at all stages of your educational journey:

I decided to enroll in Pitt Business because it is one of the top public business schools, for undergraduates, in the country. I recognized that my experience in the military integrated perfectly with higher education and my future career goals. I feel privileged to be able to graduate college, debt-free, thanks to the G.I. Bill.
