Profile

Anthony Rodi joined the University of Pittsburgh Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business and College of Business Administration in 2015 and recently served as Interim Associate Dean of the College of Business Administration from July 2019 to July 2020. With over 17 years of higher education experience, he teaches a variety of courses around Information Systems at the undergraduate, graduate, and executive levels, with expertise in remote and blended delivery. He recently received an Excellence in Teaching Award on September 18, 2020 and was selected for  Poets and Quants “Best Undergraduate Business School Professors.” He was also named “Outstanding Teacher of the Year” in 2016 and was awarded both the Excellence in Teaching and Excellence in Service Awards in 2017. In addition to teaching, he is active within the university, building internal relationships across disciplines and departments. He currently serves as Faculty Director for MS-MIS program, MS Programs Faculty Director Coordinator and as a Pitt Cyber Affiliate Scholar. Tony also serves as faculty advisor for the Business Technology Club and Project Management Club student organizations at Pitt Business, as well as, faculty advisor for undergraduate Business Case Competition teams.  In addition, he actively participates in many University committees.

Prior to joining Katz/CBA, Rodi taught at California University of Pennsylvania. During his tenure, he achieved excellence in teaching across disciplines, including Computer Information Systems, Leadership and Business, while also building new degree programs, providing student mentoring and guidance, contributing to course development, and conducting extensive service both inside and outside of the university. In addition to teaching, Tony was Director of National Center for Robotics Engineering and Technology Education and was successful in grant writing.  As Principal Investigator (PI) he led a multi-million-dollar Department of Defense joint contract between California University of Pennsylvania and Carnegie Mellon University Robotics Institute.

Prior to his academic career, Anthony had many years of industry experience.
