Profile

Bret joined the faculty of the Katz School of Business in 2024 after receiving his PhD from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Before pursuing his PhD, Bret received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in accounting from Minnesota State University Moorhead. He is a licensed CPA and CMA with several years of public and private accounting experience. Bret’s research examines management control system design and its effects on the judgment and decision-making of employees, managers, and investors. He teaches classes in managerial accounting, financial accounting, and accounting information systems.
