Congratulations to the Spring 2023 graduates of the Executive MBA program in the University of Pittsburgh’s Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business.
The students, all with 10+ years of experience in a wide range of roles in a variety of industries, were celebrated by faculty, staff, family, and friends on Sunday, April 16, 2023, at the University Club. Pitt speakers included: Gene Anderson, Henry E. Haller Jr. Dean; Associate Dean and Associate Professor of Finance Sara Moeller; Executive Director Kim Abel; and Academic Director, Professor of Business Administration and Director of the Center for Supply Chain Management Prakash Mirchandani.
The graduation speaker was Kenneth Krause, Executive Vice President, chief financial officer and treasurer of Rollins, Inc. The student speaker was Matthew Bucek, director, substations and grid protection and controls for Duquesne Light Company.
The Executive MBA program was created specifically for professionals who want to build on their expertise and learn how to become a catalyst for change. By adding finance, economics, business management and leadership skills they expand their opportunities for advancement.
Awards and Honors
As part of the commencement, the Outstanding Professor Award, selected by the students, was presented to Associate Professor Elise Boyas.
The Outstanding Student Award was given to Ben Coffman, Senior Customer Value Director, Coupa Software.
Six graduates were inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society: Bucek, Coffman, Barry Bradosky, Danielle Hunsicker, Matt Poljak, and Wendy Swann.
