The Signature Path

Designed to be completed as a cohort experience in only 18 months, our redesigned Signature MBA program provides you with time for a summer internship and includes an intensive integrated learning capstone experience during your final semester, while providing a path to rejoin the workforce four months earlier than a traditional two-year MBA program. Students will bring significant post-bachelor professional experience and a desire to advance or switch industries or professional field. The program begins in early August with coursework concluding 18 months later with an immersive capstone experience.

Integrated Learning. Individualized. Accelerate Your Career

We provide a strong, broad foundation of business knowledge and we empower you to tailor a program that builds on your unique strengths, life experiences, and professional goals to accelerate your career through integrated learning.

Integrated Learning

Integrated learning focuses on the links between business disciplines for deeper understanding through overarching organizing ideas and concepts. This provides opportunities to develop and value multiple perspectives, bringing together different perspectives and disciplinary approaches.

Integrative coursework in business communications, data programming fundamentals, and research along with co-curricular experiences such as case competitions, community-based projects, summer internships, and professional development programming complement and reinforce the core curriculum to provide a framework for integrated learning.

You will have many opportunities to individualize your program by choosing the right mix of elective coursework for you. In addition to selecting electives based on your interests, you may choose to complete a Credential, Institute, and/or Business Disruption Series course(s) as part of your MBA studies.

As a Katz student, you may choose to complete a Katz Credential in order to highlight expertise and hands-on experience in a particular business area. Credentials include a bundle of specialized coursework that build your capabilities, knowledge, and experience in a meaningful way.

Integrated Learning Institutes

Institutes are elective, integrated learning experiences designed to bolster your business acumen, build cross-functional dexterity, and deepen your fundamental knowledge by focusing on one industry or area. Institutes make the business disciplines come alive by visiting a variety of companies, meeting with professional/industry experts and helping firms solve real time business problems.  The Katz Institutes are offered in high-demand fields such as technology management, healthcare, and non-profit management.

Business Disruption Series

Through this innovative series, students learn what business disruption is and how to become a catalyst for change. Elect “game changer” courses that highlight faculty expertise on relevant and current business issues and trends. For instance, take a course exploring augmented reality (AR) marketing or learning how the global pandemic has influenced private equity investing.

It was very clear to me that Katz was the perfect option for my education and future career. Great medical care strikes a balance between both business and medicine. My time at Katz allowed me to shadow and connect with UPMC doctors and get an inside look at the business side of medical startups.

There was a great spirit of cooperation and camaraderie amongst my fellow students. I keep in touch with a number of my fellow Katz classmates to this day and we all agree that our time at Katz had a significant impact on our lives and careers.
