Profile
Ashley Gomez (she/her) is Assistant Professor of Business Administration at the University of Pittsburgh. She joined the faculty of the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business in 2022. Her dissertation used an intersectional lens to examine the relationship between work, entrepreneurship, and health among the Latine population in the United States. More recently, she has been working on a project which studies how immigrant Latina-owned businesses were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. This research has implications for social change, policies, and strategies to promote Latine entrepreneurship and support Latine-owned firms. Dr. Gomez has professional experience tackling societal inequities alongside federal and local government agencies, nonprofits, and community-based organizations.
