Congratulations, December 2023 Katz Graduates!

Congratulations to the December 2023 graduates of the master’s degree programs from the University of Pittsburgh’s Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business. To celebrate the accomplishments of nearly 90 graduates from the Master of Business Administration and the Master of Science programs, faculty, staff, and other supporters gathered at a reception on Friday, December 8, 2023, at Alumni Hall.

Addressing the graduates, Gene Anderson, Henry E. Haller, Jr. Dean, thanked the students for entrusting Pitt. He also recognized the faculty, staff, family, friends, and loved ones who inspired, guided, and supported the students.

He concluded by giving the graduates a few words of advice: “First, keep things in perspective, understand what really matters. Second, challenge yourself outside of work. Engage in activities that will help build and strengthen your confidence. Third, laugh at yourself. It’s important to not take yourself too seriously. Fourth, be soft on people and hard on ideas. And finally, express gratitude and practice forgiveness.”

These graduates (listed here) mastered key business principles through real-world, integrated learning, which is a hallmark of a Katz education, and are now joining the 33,000 Katz business alumni, in nearly 90 countries, who are using business as a force for social good.

They are encouraged to attend the first University Winter Commencement on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at the Petersen Events Center. Students who registered by December 6, 2023, can participate in that ceremony.

On Saturday, April 27, 2024, the first-ever Pitt Business Spring Commencement for graduates of all levels will be held at the Pete. December 2023 grads are invited to attend. There is no limit on the number of guests per graduate.
